New Lincolnshire academies ready to open on the coast.

September 7, 2012 by Education News Pipe

Lincolnshire east coast schools ready to reopen as new Lincolnshire academies. They will see changes to four of the east coast’s schools as they reopen for a new academic year.

Mablethorpe Primary, Skegness Infant, Skegness Junior and Ingoldmells schools have all reopened as new Lincolnshire academies sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust after the decision was made to convert earlier this year.

New Lincolnshire Academies

Skegness Junior School has reopened as an academy sponsored by the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust.

What does this mean for the new Lincolnshire academies.

The new Lincolnshire academies will all open in the existing buildings of the predecessor schools under the leadership of the existing headteachers who have become principals of their new academies.

The four new Lincolnshire academies will be overseen by the newly appointed Executive Principal, Emma Hadley, who previously held the role of headteacher at Ingoldmells Primary School. Her role will be to monitor the new academies to ensure the highest quality of operation.

Emma, said: “I am confident that these four academies will make a positive contribution towards raising educational attainment within communities along the east coast.

“I look forward to supporting the senior leadership team within each academy to transform the learning experience for pupils and facilitate the sharing of best practice within the Trust.”

How will the Greenwood Dale Foundation trust help the new Lincolnshire academies?

The GDFT also operates Skegness Academy and the four new east coast academies are four of seven, joining the trust this September, bringing the total number of open academies to 12. Chief executive of the GDFT.

Barry Day, said: “These new Lincolnshire academies bring a further 1,300 pupils into the Trust and will build on the success of the former schools to ensure pupils reach their full potential, with no limit to what they can achieve.

“These new primary academies will be able to offer specialist teaching in a range of subjects through links with the Skegness Academy.”

King Edward VI school in Spilsby, Hogsthorpe Primary School and Skegness Grammar School were all also due to convert to new Lincolnshire academies when they reopened this September under the David Ross Education Trust.
